A Day in the Life
Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and Technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.
The Senior Accountant – General Ledger is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting within the Shared Service Center. The role plays a key part in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, drives process improvements, and provides support to internal stakeholders across the organization. As a senior team member, you will act as a subject-matter expert for GL activities and ensure high-quality execution of end-to-end accounting tasks. Based in Pune, India, this role requires close collaboration corporate and local Finance teams, internal and external auditors, as well as the IT Support team.

Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Oversee all Record-to-Report activities: General Ledger, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, and Cash Application.
Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
Manage intercompany reconciliations, settlements, and issue resolution.
Maintain the Fixed Asset register and oversee capitalizations, depreciation, and disposals.
Supervise timely and accurate cash application of incoming payments.
Drive standardization and efficiency improvements across R2R processes.
Identify and implement automation opportunities.
Support system enhancements, migrations, and new finance tool implementations.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting or R2R, ideally in a Shared Service environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (USGAAP) and internal controls.
Proven people management experience.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics).
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Continuous improvement mindset: experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, or automation is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
