This role will be responsible for creating & leading surgeon education strategies, initiatives, and programs for cranial and spinal therapies, procedures, and technologies, with a specific focus as the Medical Education Lead for the Anterior Lateral Oblique and Posterior Degenerative therapy segments. In this role you will be a critical part of the Training and Education team, responsible for designing and evolving training strategies, planning and executing surgeon training events, creating training materials and curriculum, faculty development / management, and ensuring seamless and holistic educational experiences that increase adoption of CST therapies, procedures, and technologies – driving impact for the Cranial and Spine Technologies (CST) organization and the healthcare providers and patients we serve.
As a highly visible and collaborative leader, you will partner closely with key business partners, cross-functional stakeholders, and surgeon partners to drive operational excellence, streamline processes, and deliver measurable improvements and innovation in educational programming. This role is a unique opportunity to unlock the full potential of surgeon and industry collaboration to drive best in class education, directly supporting CST’s mission to elevate standards of care and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Medical Education Program Management
Serve as the medical education therapy lead, in partnership with key stakeholders and team members, on all planning & execution activities of educational programs of varying sizes, including but not limited to Premier Medical Education Programs, National & Regional Programs, Peer to Peer/Faculty Consult Programs, Local Program Curriculum Development, and Virtual Webinars.
Determination of program dates and locations, target audience, program design, format, agenda and curriculum development, and key program elements that are rooted in key learning objectives
Faculty management activities specific to the program (selection, invitations, content vision, focus, and framework, topic assignments, content submissions and deadlines, off-label trainings, faculty logistics, onsite experience, faculty payments, etc.)
Program cost estimates, budget, and expense management
Clear articulation of program goals, key learning objectives, measures of success, and program impact and effectiveness metrics.
Travel requirement: 25%
Training and Education Strategy Development
Partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute the medical education strategy and roadmap (strategies, tactics, and funding needs) for your responsible focused spine segment to drive adoption of the therapy, technology, and procedure.
Content Development & Training Material Management
Partner with HCP Faculty and internal partners to create educational training materials to support educational programs & digital channels.
Manage quality control process for training materials (regulatory, legal, and compliance reviews and approvals)
Faculty Selection, Development, and Management
Lead all efforts related to HCP faculty evaluation, selection, onboarding & development through the controlled CST faculty selection process (leveraging your strategic experience to plan faculty utilization and engagement based on needs of business)
Develop, manage, and sustain living HCP faculty roster
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, healthcare industry or equivalent experience (OR Associate's Degree with 6+ years experience OR Baccalaureate Degree with 4+ years experience).
Nice to Have
Experience in education and training highly preferred
Strong presentation skills
Effective instructional design skills
Clinical knowledge and experience of spine procedures and the integration of enabling technologies (navigation, robotics, predictive analytics and planning)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & thrive under pressure, maintaining a positive, composed, and enthusiastic attitude
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$84,800.00 - $127,200.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
