A Day in the Life
Medtronic’s Corporate Audit Department is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our APAC-based team. In this role, you will lead the execution of audit plan within the APAC region as well as potential international assignments. You will be developing a working knowledge of Medtronic’s products & business models models, processes and operations. You will leverage your business/industry acumen, technical expertise, and leadership experience to drive audit quality, operational excellence, and support Medtronic’s objectives.
As a member of the Corporate Audit team, the Audit Manager will contribute to Corporate Audit's mission, which is to preserve and enhance shareholder value through the independent and objective identification and evaluation of risks, the assessment of the integrity and effectiveness of internal controls, and the evaluation and promotion of operational excellence across the global Medtronic enterprise.
In your role, you will lead a variety of assignments across the region such as auditing sales office/countries, new business models, global/region led processes, post acquisition audits, internal controls assessments as well as advisory projects to support management on transformational initiatives. You will coordinate and work with the team on all phases of the audit cycle from planning, fieldwork and reporting activities In this role, you will also have an opportunity to expand your data analytics skillsets to drive audit results.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge on Medtronic value streams and business practices as well as to interact with a wide range of stakeholders in the region (Controllership, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Forensics, Supply Chain, COEs).
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Inspire, motivate, develop and actively coach team members
Lead audit projects in accordance with department standard operating procedures, as well as International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
Exhibits a clear understanding of risk-based auditing concepts, SOX 404 procedures, and testing strategies.
Support on communication of project results to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Develop and maintain a stakeholder network in order to be timely informed on upcoming strategic initiatives and critical events occurring in the region to support the Audit Plan Development.
Review team members work, providing feedback in an honest and constructive manner.
Lead meetings with others (Medtronic business control owners, Corporate Audit department management, etc.).
Collaborates with others, develops self, and embraces diversity and inclusion.
Understands and acknowledges the Corporate Audit Mission and Charter.
Understands the Medtronic business, analyzes issues, and connects to strategic direction.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor degree in a relevant field of study (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration)
10+ years of relevant experience in Audit i.e. Big4, internal audit, etc
Excellent interpersonal and English communication (verbal and written) skills
High energy, results-orientated individual with demonstrated capacity to take charge of assigned projects with sense of urgency, good organizational, analytical and problem solving skills, good business sense.
Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities and responsibilities in a dynamic and changing environment
Experience with accounting and auditing theories and principles.
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Professional Certification in accounting and/or internal control (Preferred)
Experienced with SAP (Preferred)
Experience with Data Analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) (Preferred)
Experienced with US GAAP and SOX
Able and willing to travel subject to local/international restrictions (domestic and international), ranging from 20 - 40%.
