Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Position Summary: The Warehouse Manager position coordinates the activities of workers responsible for packaging, pulling, preparing, and shipping product both domestically and internationally.


  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping and packaging activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipments
  • Determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules and expedite work flow
  • Manage inventory levels at the main warehouse level including daily inventory transaction records and accuracy of inventory
  • Provide leadership and support for initiatives to enhance supply chain processes, reduce operating costs, improve inventory turns, and services
  • Assist all outside and internal customers answering and resolving questions and issues
  • Compile and maintain all applicable shipping and inventory metrics, on time to kit dates, bag and tag to shipping metrics to ensure on time delivery of shipments to customers.
  • Maintain and update Customer Shipping / Routing Guides
  • Ensure shipping area is organized and clean
  • Lead planning and preparation of all required shipment logistics and documents for on-time, defect free shipment of products to domestic and export customers and DCs
  • Ensures all shipments fully comply with all applicable local/federal government and global trade regulations and duties
  • Maintain inventory records that accurately itemize the product code and quantity of all inventory items. (Inventory may include finished goods, intermediates, packing materials and/or raw materials)
  • Manage best shipment methods to balance customer required shipping requirements for on-time shipment while achieving lowest possible landed transportation costs
  • Oversee and ensure high performance in internal and external audits of logistics and inventory processes
  • Manage warehouse including receiving and shipping operations to be in full compliance with corporate Safety, Health and Environmental requirements
  • Ensures policies, procedures and training are in place for optimization of workforce
  • Effectively lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement in processes, work rules, teamwork, etc. Utilize performance excellence tools.
  • Effectively communicate changes and improvement throughout the organization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of trade compliance and customs regulations

Knowledge and Skills:

  • International and Domestic regulatory and governing bodies’ rules and regulations (DOT, OSHA, ETC.)
  • Shipping / Warehouse / Inventory best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Shipping / Warehouse / Inventory / Personnel performance metrics
  • Leadership / Teaching / Training Skills

Minimum Education and Experience (Required and Preferred):

  • Bachelor degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience within a dynamic & changing global logistics/supply chain environment
  • At least 3 years of proven leadership record
  • Experience in leading a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Experience in multicultural matrix organization
