Vice President/Nursing Operations

The Vice President Nursing Operations supports the work of the Atrium Health SVP and System Nurse Executive in advancing nursing operations and patient experience across the enterprise. Serves as a member of the Atrium Health Nursing Executive Council and is responsible for the flexible staffing operations, nursing productivity and affordability objectives and continual improvements in these areas.


Position Accountabilities:

Responsible for the operations of the System Resource Pool including the Atrium scheduling office and the API tool implementation and optimization.

Guides the Nursing Division in productivity and finance goals by developing and implementing budget targets to achieve organizational objectives .

Supports the System Nurse Executive in Nursing Patient Experience work and goal attainment.

Ensures standardization and accountability regarding standard work related to staffing and scheduling.



Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state which you work and reside or; if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.

Masters of Science in Nursing required.

Certification in Nursing Administration or related specialty required.


Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:

Experience as a Chief Nursing Officer and Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.

Experience and leadership with Magnet designation process.

Understanding of analytics and benchmarking is essential.

Experience leading organizational change and ability to influence people to achieve common goals.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Exceptional organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
