Job Summary
Performs specific patient related clerical/systems functions, observes cardiac monitor for detection of arrhythmias and maintains a neat and orderly work environment.

Essential Functions
  • Transcribes patient related orders legibly and accurately, initiates and maintains an orderly and complete medical record, assures work area is stocked and ready for patient care and performs query functions on computer systems.
  • Communicates information appropriately utilizing available resource and contributes to and assists with problem solving.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities and special projects or performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs technical skills to obtain diagnostic information in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Provides basic care to meet patient's self care/functional/comfort needs and performs special procedures in the delivery of nursing care activities.
  • Monitors dysrhythmias and notification of equipment malfunctions.
  • Demonstrates age-specific skill competency in clinical practice environment.
Physical Requirements
Light degree of physical effort with frequent sitting, reaching, lifting of up to 20 pounds. Travel throughout hospital campus. Heavy machine interaction with computers, printers, telephones and intercoms. General hospital environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, pathogens and blood and body fluids.

Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an approved NA Training Program and current listing with the DFS NA Registry as a NA I or NA II required. Medical terminology and computer data entry skills preferred. Successful completion of Basis EKG educational program preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.
