Responsible for planning and implementing orientation and in-service education programs with identified instructional outcomes under the direction and guidance of the Administrative Nurse Manager. Identifies educational and learning needs, maintains attendance records, and acts as a consultant in areas of expertise to enhance staff learning. Teaches pertinent content to staff on the unit and classrooms at CHAM and Moses campuses.  Contributes to the quality of patient care by participation in quality improvement activities and research.


Other responsibilities include:

1.  Developing appropriate orientation plan for novice to experience nurses.  
2.  Maintaining educational competencies of staff in caring for complex patients.
3.  Ensuring quality initiatives are rolled out on the unit with all stakeholders.  
4.  Participating in the development of new policy and procedures related to the care of unit based patient population.
5.  Review current policy and procedures related to the care of unit based patient population.  



This Unit Based Education Coordinator requires 5 years full time RN experience working with pediatric critical care patients. 

NYS Registered Professional Nurse. 

BSN required, Master's preferred.
