Purpose of Position:

The Trade Show Specialist will serve as the project manager for trade shows and special projects for Corning Incorporated. As project manager, this position will lead the trade show planning team consisting of members from Commercial Marketing, Corporate Events, Operations, S&T and outside vendors to ensure successful execution and compliance to budget.

The Trade Show Specialist will be responsible for the design, engineering and construction of display properties to support Corning global trade show participation, lobby displays and corporate events.



  • Create project plans, resource plans and cost estimates to achieve tradeshow deliverables.
  • Document and track project planning activities.
  • Continually assess project status and adjust trade show planning as necessary to ensure timeline, budget and deliverables are met.
  • Design, engineer and construct trade show booths and lobby displays utilizing Corning owned properties and/or new construction vendors.
  • Partner with technical product specialists to develop and execute product demonstrations/displays.
  • Execute trade show planning through completion of vendor contracts, preparation of identified booth properties/products, domestic and international shipping, and on-site implementation/supervision.


Travel Requirements:

Travel to 3-8 trade shows per year averaging 4-10 consecutive days each.


Hours of Work:

Extended work days/weekends/holidays required during peak tradeshow season – October through June.


Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree


Required Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in trade show industry or exhibit engineering/construction.

• Project management experience.


Required Skills:

• Project management skills - ability to lead a project team.

• Technical ability to read and decipher trade show construction drawings, construct trade show booths from modular properties and understand technical requirements of product demonstrations.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.

• Self-starter, high performance individual contributor and team player.

• Strong financial management skills.

• Experience working with individuals at all levels within an organization including exposure to Corporate Management staff.
