The Technology Solutions Specialist installs both voice and data peripheral technologies, including PCs, laptops, printers, and telephones, and installs and maintains structured cabling plants, and is responsible for medium to large scale technology projects, while assisting with large scale projects and the writing Knowledgebase Documents.

The Technology Solutions Specialist frequently interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams on large scale projects involving installation of and changes to desktop assets.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Minimum three years experience in computer electronics, PC and/or telephony support.

Experience in microcomputers and supporting desktop hardware/software required.

Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation.

CompTIA A+

Additionally, any of the following are also preferred, but not required:

Avaya ACA

CompTIA Network+

CompTIA Project+



Cisco CCNA

Microsoft Specialist Windows 7, Windows 10

Microsoft MCSA Windows 7, MCSA Windows 8

HP Sales Certified – Imaging and Printing Fundamentals along with certifications for individual current Enterprise Models on the Carilion Printer Fleet

Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral).  Must have excellent problem solving skills, and be customer service oriented.
