Description: Microbiology Technician
Perform and review microbiological analyses of raw materials, in-process and finished products, water testing and environmental monitoring. Performs biological indicator, growth promotion, endotoxin, and bioburden testing, and microbial identifications.
Sets up, operates and maintains microbiology laboratory instruments, monitors experiments, makes observations, calculates and records results, and often develops conclusions. Perform all testing processes in accordance with GMPs, SOPs, TMs safety rules and production schedule. Under general supervision following SOPs and special test designs; analyzes test data and completes required documentation. Performs Micro equipment maintenance, understands lab safety involving potentially infectious bio-waste and is a team player. May investigate testing abnormalities and implement corrective action. Clean and maintain laboratory areas and equipment according to procedures .Individual is familiar with basic scientific principles and has had some micro laboratory experience. Can follow written direction and maintain a laboratory notebook. Has good communication skills and is computer literate. Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or closely related field is preferred, along with 4-6 Years Work.
Experience with GMP, GLP, FDA, RCRA, and OSHA knowledge may be preferred.
