Tax Intern 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Tax Intern, are to:   


  • Participate in challenging tasks to offer exposure and understanding of Bayer’s financial processes and procedures;
  • Observe and work with experienced senior level staff to gain as much knowledge as possible;
  • Learn the foundation for effective networking and long term relationships within the Bayer FACT community;
  • Receive an overview of the different areas of the FACT community in order to foster the understanding and collaboration between departments necessary to function in advanced capacities;
  • Provide financial and audit support for the U.S. organization with increased responsibility and accountability;
  • Gain exposure to the tax department, tax software and Bayer systems in order to foster a deeper understanding of Bayer's financial processes and procedures;
  • Become familiar with Bayer Corporation, Bayer’s U.S. businesses, U.S. Federal and State Taxation;
  • Participate in work assignments that may include working on US federal and state tax compliance, verifying and processing tax payments, and preparation of certifications and/or work papers for Bayer entities;
  • Work on a research topic or assist with audit support;
  • Be introduced to abandoned property compliance and recovery of unclaimed funds for Bayer;
  • Participate in Bayer’s continuous improvement process by offering suggestions for improvements to the program or other processes;
  • Provide a critique of program at the conclusion.

 Required Qualifications:  


  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program with a minimum completion of Junior year for undergraduate studies;
  • Educational experience should have focus within International Business Management, (Corporate) Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Auditing, General Management or relatable field;
  • Ability to participate in a twelve-week program;
  • Previous Internships should be at least a minimum of two (2) months in duration;
  • Must possess a high level of motivation, energy, passion for excellence, self-confidence, self-starter and the ability to work independently;
  • Demonstrated use of financial, operational, and business judgment and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to interact with and establish good working relationships with diverse individuals;
  • Advanced PC skills and experience using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.


Preferred Qualifications:  


  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.25 within the Bachelor/Master program;
  • At least one (1) semester of International studies abroad.
