One to three years experience as a Pharmacy Supervisor required. Hospital Pharmacy experience desired.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate.
Current Pennsylvania Registered Pharmacist license.
Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Supervisor assists in the managing, planning, organizing and directing of all functions of the Wilkes Barre Behavioral Health Hospital Pharmacy along with performing as a Staff Clinical Pharmacist when necessary.
Managerial skills, knowledge of Pharmacy law, numerical ability, thorough knowledge of Pharmacology, aseptic technique, accurate analysis and evaluation of orders, verbal and written communication skills, independent thinking/sound judgment, clinical expertise, ability to teach and instruct.
Advises and consults with patients, nursing and medical staff.
Supervises pharmacist and non-pharmacists in daily activities and schedules pharmacists to achieve appropriate coverage during time pharmacy is open and for coverage during times pharmacy is closed.
Assists in scheduling and coordinating of department projects to meet deadlines.
Performs order entry of prescribers orders.
