One to three years experience as a Pharmacy Supervisor desired but not necessary.

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Supervisor assists in the managing, planning, organizing and directing of all functions of the Wilkes Barre Behavioral Health Hospital Pharmacy along with performing as a Staff Clinical Pharmacist when necessary.

Managerial skills, knowledge of Pharmacy law, numerical ability, thorough knowledge of Pharmacology, aseptic technique, accurate analysis and evaluation of orders, verbal and written communication skills, independent thinking/sound judgment, clinical expertise, ability to teach and instruct.

Works well and in congruence with the current Director of Pharmacy

Advises and consults with patients, nursing and medical staff.

Supervises pharmacist and non-pharmacists in daily activities and schedules pharmacists to achieve appropriate coverage during time pharmacy is open and for coverage during times pharmacy is closed.

Assists in scheduling and coordinating of department projects to meet deadlines

Investigates unusual situations or activities pertaining to pharmacy services

Performs drug master file and other pharmacy system file maintenance

Performs order entry of prescribers orders

Responds to variances and assist in any issues in facilities

Ensure that department policies and procedures are carried out

Participates in pharmacy staff and nursing training relative to pharmacy

Attends monthly Pharmacy and Therapeutics meetings along with the Director of Pharmacy

Tracks various statistics as required for reporting

Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate.

Current Pennsylvania Registered Pharmacist license
