As a Supervisor Pharmacy on the Clinical and Pharmacy Operations team, you will perform various duties as it relates to therapy assessment, care planning and departmental communications to streamline efficiencies across the department.

To succeed in this position, a baseline understanding of various infusion related therapies is preferred. These functions include interpreting, formulating, and dispensing of infusion and/or specialty drugs for sterile compounding and / or distribution. This is a dynamic work environment and requires flexibility to meet business needs and adaptability to frequent changes. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team that consists of a pharmacist and pharmacy technicians
  • Provide oversight of the safety; appropriateness, and effectiveness of the pharmaceutical care provide to patients (consumers) as it relates to specialty products dispensed
  • Communicates with the patient, physician, nursing staff, other pharmacists and other members of the health care team regarding patient status, response to therapy and clinical objectives to ensure clinical outcomes are met
  • Ensure compliance with all FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA and other regulatory standards. Follows all department policies and procedures
  • Serve as an expert to the clinical staff and proactively meets with their team
  • Ensures the pharmacy and team members follow policies and standards in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Motivates, develops and coaches all pharmacy staff to ensure they are meeting their potential and delivering exceptional service
  • Creates an engaging team environment which promotes compassion and models our core values and culture amongst the team
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders and clinic partners to ensure we are meeting all needs and promote the pharmacy business

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree
  • Pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Wisconsin
  • 3+ years of Pharmacist in Charge experience and/or prior Management or Supervisory experience
  • Sound drug product and clinical pharmacy knowledge
  • Solid prioritization, monitoring, scheduling, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and, when applicable, after-hours prescription dispensing
  • Computer and typing proficiency, including MS Word
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in home infusion therapies
  • Knowledgeable in various infusion related therapies and ability to work through the complexity of therapy related orders
  • Experience developing or operationalizing medication clinical guidelines and/or formulary development
  • Strong track record of regulatory compliance and adherence to the highest standards of quality
  • Experience working within a managed healthcare
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
