Strategic Initiative Lead, Office of the President & COO



Plan and manage all strategic and operational activities of the President/COO.  Act as the point of contact between COO, employees, and other stakeholders. Travel with COO where necessary to ensure highest level of efficiency and communication.  Work with COS to ensure strategy and execution aligned with CEO.  Provide oversight and guidance to special projects of high importance. 




  • Partner with ICS(Internal Client Services)/Senior EA for COO:
    • Ensure that the President/COO’s time is maximized and prioritized efficiently and effectively.
    • Maintain the COO’s schedule; prepare and review briefing materials for all meetings and commitments.
    • Ensure aligned with EVP, SA/DISC to ensure utmost efficiency, communication and connectivity to reduce redundancy
  • Proactively identify, address or remove roadblocks that could impact the successful execution of the COO’s commitments and objectives.
  • Assist with facilitating decision making, by supporting the needs of directs in their ability to raise critical issues with the COO, and receive needed responses, guidance and decisions.
  • Invite and prepare participants for meetings with the COO, to ensure that the meeting objectives are realistic, preparation is appropriate, and that the COO is well-prepared.
  • Attend meetings, capture major take-aways, and ensure follow-up.
  • Assist with communication and execution of key PMO and Procurement programs to ensure the financial objectives are met
  • Work and collaborate with cross-functional strategic initiative team, to ensure COO initiated objectives are represented.
  • Assist Chief Strategy Officer with the implementation of the strategic planning process.
  • Help manage the budget of the COO, to ensure on plan
  • Maintain a dashboard and status of critical path projects in which the COO’s awareness and involvement is essential, and report variations.
  • Execute multiple, often quick-turnaround special projects with minimal outside assistance.
  • Partner with COS to identify significant, high-level client relationships, and strategic deals, aligned with CEO, where the COO relationship can be leveraged; prepare for, and follow-up with action items from these meetings.
  • Work with COS and Corporate Communications to manage the COO’s communications both internally and externally.
  • Assess and triage inquiries directed to the COO, to determine the proper course of action, and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage.



  • Education:  MBA preferred
  • Experience:  Five plus years related experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certification/Licensure:  None.
  • Travel:  Significant travel is required.
  • Other:  Discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy.  Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across the organization and to prioritize, multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  Excellent organizational skills, communication, strong writing skills, and high-level technical skills in Office 365, Project Management Software and Developing Presentations).  Broad understanding of company policies and practices.  Ability to work independently.
