Staff Pharmacist - Per Diem

Methodist Hospital Northlake

Gary, IN

As a per diem, nonexempt, CPS® Staff Pharmacist, you'll evaluate and interpret orders, compound, and dispense medications according to written orders/prescriptions issued by an authorized prescriber. You will also identify, prevent, assess and resolve medication-related problems to ensure a safe and optimal patient outcome and promote, through criteria based protocols, clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care. This position works primarily at the Northlake campus, but may provide occasional coverage at the Southlake campus.

Schedule: This position is schedueld to work every third weekend 8 hour day or evening shifts and may proivde additional time off coverage for other shifts as needed/available.

About the Facility: Methodist is a not-for-profit, community-based healthcare system. Methodist has two full-service campuses just 14 miles apart. Northlake is the urban campus in Gary while Southlake Campus in Merrillville is located near one of the Midwest's busiest retail areas. Combined campus bed capacity is 625 plus nurseries. Midlake Campus is the outpatient facility in Gary, conveniently located between the Northlake and Southlake campuses. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.

Requirements:

* Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
* Current Indiana Pharmacist license in good standing
* Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program strongly preferred
* At least 1 year of recent work experience as a Pharmacist (in a Hospital setting preferred)
* Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
* Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
* Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
* Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Hospital Requirements:

* (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
