The pharmacist is responsible for medication order entry, preparation and distribution for patients. The pharmacist helps ensure the appropriate prescription and administration of medications to patients within the institution.
* Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required, PharmD degree preferred. PGY1 residency or 3 or more years of inpatient practice preferred. Alabama Board of Pharmacy license current, or eligible and must obtained within 3 months of position. Alabama Board of Pharmacy controlled substance license current or obtained within 3 months in position. Board Certification preferred. Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties. Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system. Basic knowledge in pharmacokinetic calculations and parenteral nutrition management. Knowledge of aseptic technique. Evidence of commitment to continuing education.Current Alabama Pharmacy License or license eligible; Controlled Substance certification.
