PeaceHealth is seeking a Sr. Training Specialist - Learning & Leadership Development for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours.

JOB SUMMARY
Completes the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of complex training, caregiver and leadership development programs. Consults with leaders, program managers, analysts and other training professionals on leader and caregiver training needs.  Collaborates with other Learning and Development functions, operational and support departments in system-wide training assessments and curriculum development to achieve strategic goals and initiatives. Partners to design and deliver standardized system training programs aligned with operational workflows for a wide variety of audiences addressing team and individual accountabilities.   

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.  Completes the analysis, design, development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of complex training programs using PeaceHealth training standards, processes, and templates. Measures and compares results to desired outcomes and objectives.
2.  Utilizes ROI methodology to align training programs with business strategies and objectives; identifies and secures leadership accountabilities for the programs; and measures and compares results to desired outcomes and objectives.
3.  Apply human performance technology methodologies (Lean, organizational development, instructional technology) to increase caregiver and leader performance and effectiveness.
4.  Completes performance analysis to identify gaps and root causes of caregiver, provider or leader performance gaps. Collaborates with operational leadership to identify and apply the appropriate intervention. Where indicated, design and deliver training interventions.
5.  Applies contemporary learning best practices to design, develop and maintain appropriate instructor manuals, training materials, job aids and documentation procedures using standardized tools and templates.
6.  Conducts education and training demonstrating best practices in contemporary teaching strategies and learning modalities.
7.  Enhances trainer skills, knowledge transfer and classroom facilitation skills.  Mentors trainers to improve knowledge and skills and lead their work. Directs structured learning experiences for classroom or eLearning modules.  Creates monitored simulations and problem-solving scenarios for effective learning.
8.  Develops and implements Train the Trainer programs for other Learning and Development roles, super users, preceptors and support services’ caregivers. Serves as a mentor to others.
9.  Educates caregivers, physicians, and leaders in utilizing educational standards, workflow, adult learning principals, classroom facilitation, training materials, eLearning, and validation techniques as measured by metrics.
10.  Networks with other Learning and Development functions, operational departments, clinics and leadership to promote sharing, collaboration, and development of standard training programs in support of organizational strategies to meet strategic goals.
11.  Supports and coordinates large scale implementations by promoting and providing coordination of training. 
12.  Coordinates training logistics (courses, classrooms, registrations, timeframes, etc.) in collaboration with the other members of the team and operational managers.
13.  Provides demonstration of PeaceHealth systems and their functionality. 
14.  Provides data to document attendance and validate proficiency and competency towards educational goals and objectives in the learning management system.
15.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS  Required unless otherwise stated
 

EDUCATION:  
- Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience.
- Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Performance Improvement or related area is strongly preferred.
 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
- Minimum of 5 years training experience, preferably in healthcare
- Minimum of 3 years experience in instructional design and development of web-based and e-learning strongly preferred
 

OTHER SKILLS: 
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Technical training development, elearning development tools, and learning management systems preferred.
- Knowledgeable in the use and application of ROI and Human Performance Technology to Learning and Development.
- Project management skills.
- Proficiency in adult learning theory. motivation, and development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with projection equipment and/or webinar technology.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within network and system.
- Flexible schedule.
