Senior Research Associate, Discovery Biology
Job Scope & Purpose:
Our Watertown biotech client is seeking an experienced researcher to join their Discovery team! The primary responsibility of this position is to independently conduct cell culture experiments and immunocy to chemistry-based analysis, to support the mechanistic interrogation and selection of development candidates.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Perform in vitro pharmacology experiments and collect data using various methods (including immunocytochemistry/microscopy, RT-qPCR, plate-based immunoassays)
- Analyze experimental data and use ELN to maintain up-to-date records
- Communicate experimental results to team members and management
- Contribute to experimental designs and assay developments
- Participate in shared lab duties
Primary Job Requirements:
- BS/MS in the life sciences
- 2+ years of bench research experience, preferably in biopharmaceutical industry.
- Strong experience with human neural and ocular cell cultures, particularly with iPSC derived cells and co-culture of different cell types
- Experiences with immunocytochemistry assays, high-content imaging systems (or confocal microscopes), and image analysis are preferred
- Other molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (such as DNA and RNA extraction, qPCR, Western blot/WES/JESS, and ELISA) are preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas and document experiments using ELN
- Capable of conducting statistical analysis
- Experienced in using software such as Prism, Excel, PowerPoint
