The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Position Scope: Provide operational support for communications and mobility services. Work with project teams to transition implementations to support. Help develop, maintain, and execute relevant processes.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Process service requests and incidents for the service in accordance with the priority matrix
  • Help drive service rapid responses closure as swiftly as possible
  • Contribute to process improvements within the service
  • Escalate when needed to service leadership
  • Collaborate with other services in the service line in order to accomplish operational and project goals
  • Work with external organizations or vendors in order to accomplish project goals
  • Maintain expertise or familiarity with communications and mobility services that have been deployed in Corning

Required Skills:

  • BS in Computer Science /Systems Management/IT Related field
  • Self-starter and takes ownership for deliverables and deadlines
  • Excellent decision making capability
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a role where there was a balance of emphasis on understanding and supporting the business with technology 
  • Knowledge of general voice and mobility technology and architecture
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively with external organizations
  • Relevant experience in a business IT environment
