Description


The Division of Pharmacy at MD Anderson Cancer Center strives to be the industry leader in providing premier patient-centered care, based on excellence and innovation in patient care, services, research and education. We strive to ensure safe, effective and cost-conscious medication use and to work with our health care colleagues to promote optimal drug therapy outcomes through the development of integrated, quality programs.

1. Medication Processing and Distribution
a. Accurately and efficiently fill unit dose carts and first doses
b. Accurately and efficiently pull drugs to refill controlled access cabinets
c. Accurately and efficiently deliver medications/supplies to designated areas

2. Sterile Compounding/Preparation
a. Accurately and efficiently prepare small and large volume parenteral sterile products (non-hazardous and non-investigational)

3. Inventory Management
a. Restocking medications/supplies
b. Complete cycle counts in carousel
c. Ensure medication security and accountability
d. Monitors area inventory and supplies, notifies appropriate personnel when shortages and/or outages noted.

Other duties as assigned

Education Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required:
One year pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, infusion center or retail pharmacy.

Certification Required:
Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
