JOB SUMMARY:
The certified pharmacy technician will provide assistance in the specialty area of the pharmacy by providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Outpatient pharmacy department, the state's professional standards and other regulatory entities.
Data entry: Accurately reads, interprets and enters complex prescriptions into the computer system in a timely fashion.
Prior authorizations: Work on completing complex prior authorizations by retrieving labs and other pertinent information from the hospital system and other insurance over-rides and delivering coordination reminders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field.
1-3 years experience
Registered with the Maryland board of pharmacy
Certified pharmacy technician
