The program manager role will:

  • Be responsible for program management of IT Regional initiatives including CRM development and integration, Digital Marketing, Analytics and support of the IoT business.
  • Collaborate closely with other IT and business groups to execute project plans in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Lead planning and reporting activities for these strategic activities and become the trusted advisor of the Regional IT Director.
  • Ensure Merck technology standards compliance and pursue integration and leveraging of platform opportunities.


  • B.S. or equivalent or High School + 10 years relevant work experience.


  • Strong proficiency in Project and Program Management, with five or more years of experience of IT project management guiding projects (>$1MM) from inception to close-out.
  • Strong communication (written, oral, presentation), negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Competent in the use of project management software.
  • Experience in managing third-party vendors and development partners.
  • Ability to make a positive contribution as demonstrated by learning new skills and making suggestions for process/procedure improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and define business problems, develop business cases, and advise business owners on managing risks.
  • Ability to work toward enterprise goals, using influence rather than control, and fostering a work environment based on trust, sharing and collaboration.


  • Experience managing complex software or hardware engineering projects.
  • Solid understanding of the value of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Analytics, Master Data management and other disciplines.
  • Experience working in regulated environments (GxP, FDA).
  • Awareness of relevant industry business, information and technology trends.
  • Ability to manage through complexity and ambiguity along with competing priorities.
