This individual will work in close collaboration in multi-functional international project teams with scientists in Translational Research, Discovery, Clinical Development, and Discovery Sciences to analyze, integrate, and interpret high dimensional data from a variety of omics profiling platforms including (single cell) DNA/RNA next-generation sequencing, gene expression microarrays, flow/CyTOF, SNP arrays, proteomics, and cytokine panels. They will provide oncology data analysis and computational biology support to identify pharmacodynamic and response predictive biomarkers and for investigation mechanism of action of therapeutic interventions in early and late development. This individual may also build, analyze, and interpret biological networks from disparate data sources. They will also collaborate with other Janssen Research & Development teams as Discovery Sciences, Data Sciences, Quantitative Sciences, and R&D IT to implement informatics systems and approaches that address the Oncology TA needs.

The Senior Scientist will perform real-time bioinformatics and statistical analysis, visualization, and data interpretation for Oncology Disease Area Strongholds (DAS) with an emphasis on Immuno-oncology. This individual will use statistical and machine learning methods to identify prognostic and predictive biomarker signatures from high dimensional biological data. They will integrate data from external (e.g. NCBI Entrez, NCBI GEO, TCGA/ICGC, dbGaP/EGA, UCSC Genome Browser, Ingenuity) and internal sources, including clinical biomarker data. They may also evaluate and develop novel algorithms and approaches for data analysis.

The individual will contribute to the design of scientific experiments and will communicate analysis results to bench scientists, clinicians, and management in an appropriate biological context. The candidate will maintain compliance with all internal requirements for data integrity and reproducible research, actively interface with the internal and external scientific and technical community and participate in technology evaluations and software/database usage training.
