Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, intellectually curious, and detail- oriented individual to join the In Vitro Biology/Discovery Team focused on a variety of Therapeutic Programs in the Vector Science group. This is a fast-paced, lab-focused role centering on the creation and in vitro testing of viral vector therapeutic candidates. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills and present your research. This position reports to the Vector Science Therapeutic Lead.
- Develop and execute cloning strategies to generate AAV capsid/genome constructs for therapeutic candidates
- Maintain mammalian cell culture and perform cell-based experiments (e.g. transfection and transduction)
- Quantitate DNA and RNA using ddPCR, qPCR, and RT-QPCR techniques
- Evaluate protein expression using ELISA and Western Blot
- Write, prepare and present technical data, technical reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal use and tech transfer.
- Maintain an up-to-date notebook, participate in meetings, prepare presentations, and communicate to leadership as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/MS in Biology/ Life Sciences
- 3- 4 years relevant experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with cloning, mammalian cell culture, DNA/RNA quantification, and protein- base assays
- Prior viral vector and cell cytometry experience a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment flexibly and collaboratively
