Senior Research Associate, Vector ( In-Vitro ) Biology

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative intellectually curious, and thorough individual to join the In Vitro Biology Team focused on a variety of Therapeutic Programs in the Vector Science group. This is a fast-paced, lab-focused role centering on the creation and in vitro testing of viral vector therapeutic candidates. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills and present your research. This position reports to the Vector Science Therapeutic Lead.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and execute cloning strategies to generate AAV genome constructs for viral therapeutic candidates
  • Perform cell culture: maintain and bank cell lines, and execute cell-based experiments such as transfections, transductions, and cell titer assays
  • Quantitate DNA and RNA using ddPCR, qPCR, and RT-QPCR techniques
  • Develop, validate, and utilize protein expression assays, such as ELISA and Western Blot
  • Write, prepare and present technical data, technical reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal use and tech transfer.
  • Maintain an up-to-date notebook, participate in meetings, prepare presentations, and communicate to leadership as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in molecular or cell biology with three years relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology techniques including e.g. Western blots, ELISA, plasmid production, ddPCR and qPCR highly desired
  • Stem cell culture and AAV experience a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment flexibly and collaboratively
