Sr. Director – ERP Systems



Montefiore Information Technology (MIT) is looking for a Senior Director of ERP Systems who will lead the implementation and support of a new ERP suite including the Finance, Supply Chain, HR and Asset Management functions to a single ERP system across all business partners.  This is a strategic position and requires a leader that can play a pivotal role in the health system’s ERP technology transformation program and evolve to a shared services model across Montefiore Medicine. 

The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills and will oversee all aspects of the implementation planning, data governance, application integration, workflow management and optimization across our affiliates and member hospitals.  The candidate will report to the AVP of Business & Financial Systems and collaborate with senior leadership in all areas of Finance, HR, and Business Operations to jointly develop strategies as they relate to the ERP investment roadmap for Montefiore Medicine. 

The Sr. Director will have management accountability supporting the ERP IT platform and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and support of these platforms.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Influence and support the overall roadmap for the ERP Product portfolio of Montefiore Medicine.


  • Lead the development of medium and long-term product roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Spearhead and develop ERP lifecycle plans to integrate and connect affiliate hospital for health system expansion
  • Lead and manage the business analysis, roadmap development and guide all product activities for the ERP product portfolio
  • Oversee trends and developments in ERP technologies and formulate strategic courses of action
  • Partner with IT leadership in optimizing ERP and identifying and implementing appropriate enhancement or new technologies
  • Be a catalyst for innovation and growth within ERP/Finance/HR business operations
  • Work effectively within and across ERP/Finance/HR business operations and IT teams to execute projects and roadmap items


  • Play a lead role in ERP governance across the health system


  • Establish a strong ERP Governance model to ensure systems are used efficiently, profitably and securely
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Montefiore Medicine business process owners and business operations to ensure alignment with business drivers, and then integrate these requirements into the strategy as it is developed
  • Prioritize related initiatives and coordinate the evaluation, deployment and implementation of current and future ERP functionality
  • Use stakeholders feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to ERP functionality


  • Lead the implementation overseeing a team of 30+ IT professionals and support multiple additional business and administrative applications


  • Manage and set the direction for the technology team, driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Provide guidance and oversight during the detailed design, build, test and deploy phases
  • Monitor application performance, service delivery performance metrics, change management, ticketing and resolution of incidents, resolution of identified problems
  • Lead business analysis efforts for new ERP functionality
  • Assess skill set needs and training opportunities and encourage team members to look for new and innovative ways of doing business
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to estimate capacity need, identify trends in performance and problem data, and improve team and technology performance
  • Provide performance feedback for resources


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Process Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience. MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus
  • 8+ years of experience with large-scale ERP implementations in a heavily regulated, compliance-driven enterprise environment and a strong track record of delivering complex projects across multiple departments
  • Minimum 10 years of management of other professionals with progressive growth in management and leadership responsibility
  • Deep knowledge of ERP business needs in a high-growth environment and hands on experience with top-tier ERP systems
  • Able to build, communicate, and effectively manage a budget and business plan
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently and efficiently to achieve overall team as well as personal goals
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and manage simultaneous projects and initiatives
  • Strong planning, organization, critical thinking, decision-making skills and problem-solving aptitude
  • High degree of confidentiality, maturity, tactfulness and business ethics
  • Experience in an academic medical center is highly desirable.
