Senior Data Engineer- Biologics 




The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Data Scientist/Data Engineer - Biologics, are to: 


  • Working closely with Research & Development Information Technology (R&D IT) and other global partners;
  • Design and extend new and existing data repositories, including the design of a data lake;
  • Automate data extraction, transport, transformation and preprocessing pipelines and processes;
  • Will manage and code ad hoc queries to enable data analytics;
  • Collaborate with internal and external colleagues and vendors to improve the operation of the Data Science team's infrastructure;
  • Participate in problem solving with team members from other functional teams and sites;
  • Communicate effectively through listening, documentation, and presentation, especially using compelling visualization tools.

Required Qualifications:


  • PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field, with minimum of 4 years relevant experience or;
  • MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field, with minimum of 8 years relevant experience or
  • BS in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field, with minimum of 10 years relevant experience;
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL and/or R is required. Prior experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) pipelines is a must.
  • Experience leading a small team in software project management, machine learning, experimental design and statistical design are desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with scientists from diverse backgrounds, ability to work independently and as a part of a project team, ability to prioritize tasks and work on a deadline.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • 3+ years of experience in industry;
  • Familiarity and exposure to cloud platform administration;
  • Experience with NoSQL databases.
