Our Business Intelligence and Analytics organization is a large (30+) and growing department that provides complex information solutions to our corporate leadership.  The team focuses on the timely delivery of accurate, relevant and easily accessible information to all of its, hospitals, Montefiore corporate decision makes and external regulators or partners.  The technical team is comprised of data architects, DBAs, database engineers, business intelligence developers and business analysts who shepherd data from Montefiore’s multiple source systems to the Enterprise Data Warehouse and then to our customers through the business intelligence self-service platform.



The Business Analyst’s responsibilities include:


  • Participate in each phase of the project life cycle including user meetings, requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and go-live. 
  • Work closely with our customers, building relationships and serving as a liaison between the project team and the client.
  • Develop an understanding of Montefiore’s clinical processes, workflows and source systems. Identify the data sources that are supported or required by these processes.
  • Work closely with our customers to identify the information needed to support Montefiore’s diversified and specialized clinical organizations.
  • Document business rules, specifications, and user requirements. Maintain specifications, revising as changes and enhancements are developed.
  • Work closely with team members to identify constraints, determine level of effort, and the potential to meet user needs.
  • Assist Senior Business Analysts in planning functional, regression, and acceptance testing to ensure finished product meet user’s requirements.
  • Educate Clinical users in Business Intelligence technology to gain maximum use of the reporting capabilities to improve patient care.



  • Proficiency in data analytics and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency with SQL
  • Experience with RDBMS databases (multi-dimensional a plus) and BI software.
  • Experience working in environments using a development lifecycle methodology.   
  • Experience creating Business documentation to support user requirements.
  • Experience creating clear and concise Technical documentation for both database developers and report developers
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.





  • Experience in healthcare specific reporting or other exposure to healthcare business constructs
  • Project management skills a plus.  
  • Knowledge of clinical systems within a Healthcare environment.
