Senior Architect - Pharmaceutical and Bio-Tech Manufacturing (Charlotte, NC)

BHDP's Integrated Industrial Design (IID) Market, which serves clients possessing manufacturing, warehousing, and material distribution operations, is currently experiencing significant growth. In support of this growth BHDP is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Architect - Pharmaceutical and Bio-Tech Manufacturing.

Your Role + The Opportunity

As the Senior Architect, you will join the firm at our Charlotte, NC office and be responsible for leading projects from strategic planning and programming, design, through construction, and then to successful completion within our Integrated Industrial Design (IID) market. Your work will require you to have highly developed expertise in project management, architectural design, and technical knowledge within the Pharmaceutical and Bio-Tech Manufacturing sector. This management level role provides the opportunity to pursue professional growth while contributing to a firm with an extensive history and deep knowledge of the advanced manufacturing industry.

The Role Priorities

* Lead multi-discipline project teams through the strategic planning, design, and construction administration phases of multiple complex projects to meet the business needs of our clients.
* Lead preparation and execution of project kick-off, design review, and design workshop meetings with multi-discipline projects teams, clients, equipment suppliers, and contracting partners.
* Lead execution and preparation of regulatory code studies, planning and zoning studies, design specifications, and design documents.
* Ensure all design documents are executed in accordance with client, regulatory, and industry standards.
* Ensure all design documentation is executed in accordance with BHDP quality control and quality assurance processes at each project phase.
* In collaboration with Client Leaders, assist in development of proposals, budgets, and execution schedules.
* In collaboration with Client Leaders, assist in project resource planning.
* Successfully deliver projects within budget and on schedule.
* Participate in project interviews with IID Market Leader and IID Client Leaders.
* Create and foster relationships with keys clients, while managing client expectations.
* Apply interpersonal communication skills to build strong working relationships and motivate the project team.
* Support professional development of BHDP project team members.
* Promote a workplace culture that is consistent with the BHDP Collective Ambition.

Skills + Qualifications

* A professional, accredited degree in Architecture, along with 10+ years' experience.
* Registered as Professional Architect.
* Experience in strategic planning and design execution of FDA-regulated Pharmaceutical and Bio-Tech Manufacturing facilities.
* Experience in the following facilities: research and development (R&D), laboratory (GLP), commercial and clinical manufacturing (cGMP).
* Understanding of ISO and EU cleanroom classifications and certifications.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and leading multi-discipline project teams.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to complete projects on time, with precision and attention to detail.
* Ability to travel as required to perform project work and deliver expected results. Travel is expected to be in the range of 10-15%, however flexibility will be required depending on the project phase and progress.
* Expert knowledge in advanced technology (e.g., Revit and Navisworks).
* Passion for designing places and experiences that inspire people.
