The candidate will be the primary coordinator for the activities of the site’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program.

Primary duties of the position include:

  • Works with multiple stakeholders to maintain and review a schedule of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities.
  • Maintains and communicates the site’s PHA status and performance metrics.  
  • Maintains PSM Stewardship program documents and metrics, and assists in continuous improvement activities for the program.
  • Assists with the preparation of and participation in PSM and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) audits. 
  • Administrator for the PHA website folder and site PSM website.  
  • Types, formats, and proofreads reports and letters, along with interoffice memos to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Facilitates and coordinates meetings, and manages miscellaneous reminders.
  • Answers telephones, distributes incoming and outgoing mail, makes photocopies, orders supplies, and creates and approves purchase orders and invoices per current Grant of Authority.
  • Attends training for new and upgraded computer software programs to maintain up-to-date computer skills to best serve the site EHS programs, and trains department personnel when applicable.  Serves as resource to department members on company policies and procedures. 
  • Works in a team-based environment.  Receives only general supervision on non-routine assignments and works without supervision on routine assignments.
  • Prioritizes own tasks/duties in a pro-active manner to optimize effective systems to ensure a smooth work flow.  Handles internal and external inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Other secretarial and administrative duties to support the site PSM and EHS programs as required.



  • High School diploma or equivalent plus a certificate or degree from a two-year secretarial, technical or business school, or advanced degree. 


  • Minimum of three (3) years of administrative assistant experience.
  • Intermediate or advanced level computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and web page management.
  • Ability to understand and quickly transcribe technical terminology during meeting sessions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 


  • Previous work experience in a chemical process or manufacturing facility.
  • Environmental, health, and/or safety regulatory background
  • Experience with Primatech PHAworks software.
  • Experience with Adobe Dreamweaver web page management software.
