The "World's Largest Search Engine" is looking for you!! Position Description The Consumer Apps Marketing team is responsible for marketing beloved software apps, including Search, Assistant, Maps, Shopping, Pay, and more, as well as important initiatives such as Privacy, Safety, and Security and News and Civics. We use agencies of various sizes to bring these apps to life for our users through global marketing campaigns. We aim to drive growth and increase awareness, consideration and adoption of our apps and build user brand love and loyalty. As a Business Affairs Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing a range of work including providing guidance on advertising regulations, third-party licensing rights, and rights management and identifying solutions to high-risk production scenarios and business challenges. You’lll also help negotiate and execute complex marketing agreements, such as sponsorships, content and/or music licensing, celeb deals and co-marketing agreements. You’ll work closely with marketers, legal counsel, relevant cross-functional teams, and external agencies/partners to ensure all rights are secured properly and all deliverables are legally sound while upholding our brand standards. You’ll also improve processes, develop efficiencies and maintain the skills required to talk through legal issues and contractual obligations. Top Daily Responsibilities: Manage review of all Consumer Apps marketing deliverables: Liaise with cross-functional partners to review and provide business affairs guidance on campaigns from ideation to final delivery. Advise on potential production, legal, financial or brand compliance issues and collaborate with marketers on creative solutions. Manage complex negotiations and contracts: Strategize with cross-functional leads to lead contractual negotiations involving brand partnerships, celebrity endorsements, music and third party rights for global campaigns and events. Manage relationships with marketers, cross-functional teams, external agencies and partners: Partner with cross-functional leadership to develop and evolve effective business processes both internally and externally. Manage risk conversations: Initiate and escalate high-level risk legal/regulatory discussions with key stakeholders and bring practical business suggestions/solutions to reduce risk and maximize marketing value Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory 5+ years working in Business Affairs handling complex legal and production matters and oversight of rights and talent negotiations in a high-volume, fluid environment. Broad, up-to-date, industry knowledge in production, licensing, and legal issues across various media platforms in the US and internationally. Experience working at a production studio, advertising agency, or client-side marketing production. Desired Comprehensive understanding of copyright, trademark, and licensing or advertising law with a particular emphasis on social, digital content, and technology initiatives. Strong knowledge and practical implementation of current SAG/AFTRA, ACTRA and AFM union guidelines, able to quickly calculate and provide cost projections for global productions. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills, with proven ability to build relationships with various teams across legal, marketing, and agencies. Self-motivated, organized, self-starter who can anticipate needs and create efficient and effective processes in addition to reacting effectively and professionally to situations that require quick response or turnaround This particular client is requiring that all new hires show proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
