The Protein Mass Spectrometry group in Bioprocess Development of Merck Research Laboratories is seeking a talented and self-motivated scientist with experience in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or chemistry. As a laboratory-based scientist, you will be working with highly collaborative teams of scientists from Bioprocess Development to implement liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based experiments to advance the development of biotherapeutics. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemistry with a minimum of three (3) years of biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience.

Required: 

  • Willing and able to excute experiments, interpret data, and track results; 
  • Experience in liquid chromatography (LC) and/or mass spectrometry (MS);
  • Experience with software for chromatography and/or MS data analysis;
  • Capability of trouble shooting issues in routine maintenance of liquid chromatography and/or MS instruments;
  • Good organizational skills to manage data, results and timelines;
  • Good written and oral communication skills to present scientific results and findings to the group and project teams, as well as to work in a multidisciplinary working environment.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience in LC-MS of biomolecules;
  • Experience in informatics or LIMS.
