Summary
The QTI Group is partnering with a scientific company in Madison that develops, manufactures, and sells biochemical and cell-based products to recruit for and hire a Lab Scientist, Cell Biology. The Lab Scientist will support assay development and pharmaceutical testing projects. We partner with pharmaceutical companies and government labs from around the world to participate in research and method development projects, as well as pre-validation, protocol development, and assay design. Applications include potency testing, R&D, and environmental testing.
We are open to considering candidates at varying levels - comp range anticipated $55-80k, depending on experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute cell-based methods to support client projects
- Maintain engineered cell lines
- Develop and troubleshoot a variety of bioassays
- Test client samples and carry out data analysis, preparation, and reporting
- Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and environment
- Maintain communication with cell biology group and lab management to ensure customer project results are on track and communicated
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Biology (Cell or Molecular), Biotechnology or Biochemistry
- 3 years of cell culture, tissue culture, and aseptic technique experience required
- Bioassay development, cell-line cloning or flow cytometry experience desired
- Demonstrated lab math skills, for example, to calculate concentrations or make your own solutions
- Experience with both cell-based and biochemical (e.g. ELISA) assay or protein purification experience desired
- Relative potency assay analysis and related software (PLA, JMP) experience desired
- Driven by intellectual curiosity to embrace and use new or unfamiliar technologies to analyze and solve problems
- Excellent communication and organization skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
