Position summary



 



Participates in the supervision, teaching and or training of the Family Practice Residents according to the guidelines set forth by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.  In pursuing continued academic growth, the faculty physician provides patient care and serves as a leader and role model.

  • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Centura Health system, at sponsoring institution when applicable

  • Graduation from family medicine residency program

  • BLS, ACLS & NRP, as required by specific fellowship type

  • DEA Certification (verified through Physician Credentialing)

  • American Board of Family Practice (verified through Physician Credentialing)



 



Position duties (essential functions, INCLUDE % OF TIME)



 



QUALITY - 35 %




  • Provides high quality patient care

  • Exemplifies the highest standards in patient care and behavior, serving as a role model to residents

  • Participates in chart audits and Quality assurance activities

  • Assists with facilitation of quality improvement

  • Institution and program specific duties that pertain to fellowship curriculum



SERVICE - 10 %




  • Facilitates resolution of issues and enforces Centura policies

  • Attends faculty meetings at a specified frequency

  • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the fellowship programs

  • Participates in clinical and department team functions

  • Serves on appropriate designated committees

  • Participates in the selection and evaluation of future fellow candidates

  • Maintains medical staff privileges as appropriate

  • Other duties as assigned



COST -5 %




  • Practices medicine with awareness of cost and participates in hospital and clinical cost reduction efforts



PEOPLE - 30 %




  • Develops proficiency in teaching and mentoring others

  • In rotation with other faculty, takes call and rounding for residency practice, as specified by the fellowship type

  • Precepts in the clinic, including direct observation of patient/resident encounters, as specified by the fellowship type

  • Provide lectures to the residents and faculty as assigned by the fellowship director

  • Teaches or supervises medical students, other ancillary students, and midlevel providers as assigned

  • Participates in and completes all aspects of the prescribed fellowship curriculum



GROWTH – 10 %




  • Supports and conducts scholarly activity




  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in field, both academically and through applied skill

  • Completes a focused scholarly activity in the fellowship year

  • Development of personal and professional knowledge and competence through participation in the fellowship clinical curriculum

  • Maintains board certification with the American Board of Family Medicine

  • Participation in a longitudinal professional development program in conjunction with clinical skills development



COMMUNITY - 10%




  • Participation in community service activities as relevant to fellowship area
