The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.


Scope of Position:

Responsible for new business development and key account management within industrial optics product line. Works with functional team members across commercial engineering, program management, and operations, to ensure successful; customer engagement, bid/quote process, order entry, hand-off to PM and Engineering, post shipment follow-up –responsible for customer satisfaction and profitability across product family. Responsible for meeting and exceeding mutually established revenue quotas with Product Line Manager.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • General account management and follow-up with key accounts
  • Quote and proposal generation
  • Quote follow-up
  • Key account plans and %Win strategy development
  • Participate in plant and program management reviews, to ensure timely and seamless communication between functional areas and customer
  • Forecasting for monthly, quarterly, annual, and 5 year business reports


Travel requirements: 20% travel on average, but as needed to ensure growth of product line- Limited international travel.


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 hr. /week on average, but additional hours as necessary to meet with sales and business targets.


Required Education – AS or BS degree.  Business, Engineering, or Technical degree preferred


Required Experience – Minimum of 3 years experience.  5+ years preferred.
