Description Summary

This position participates in the growth of new and existing small and large group business and relevant ancillary lines (inc, dental, life, disability, Personal Spending Accounts, Whole Person Health Support programs or other health management services, BeniComp, group Medicare etc.) and in the retention of existing business. Assists the sales team and stakeholders (Agents, Consultants, Brokers and/or Fund Managers) to assure Blue Cross maintains and grows its market position and provides onsite client services as required.

Accountabilities

1) Assist in preparation and delivery of proposals for new and existing business or relevant ancillary lines (inc. dental, life, disability, Personal Spending Accounts, Whole Person Health Support programs or other health management services, BeniComp, group Medicare etc.).



2) Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and stakeholders (Agents, Consultants, Brokers and/or Fund Managers) to increase Blue Cross brand loyalty.



3) Facilitate the development, delivery and accuracy of customer communication materials using available systems, tools and resources (e.g. Client Viewer, Summary Plan Descriptions, Certificates of Coverage, Communications Builder).



4) Coordinate, represent and present Blue Cross benefits and value at agent and member facing activities (e.g. health fairs, presentations, enrollment sessions) to foster a positive image of Blue Cross, BlueLink tpa/CCS tpa, influence selection decisions and assure member understanding of their benefits and how to effectively utilize them.



5) Manage the implementation and delivery of client program reporting to stakeholders (Agents, Consultants, Brokers and/or Fund Managers) and customers as appropriate.



6) Participate in renewing existing business contracts with the sales team by maintaining a positive relationship with stakeholders (Agents, Consultants, Brokers and/or Fund Managers) and customers.



7) Ensure effective contract implementation, pro-active servicing of accounts or funds and timely identification and resolution of service issues by coordinating with operations personnel and management from within the sales environment or other Blue Cross divisions.



8) Maintains compliance with CRM (Client Relationship Management) reporting requirements.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field and 2 yrs of health plan, sales, or customer service experience or 6 yrs of health plan, sales or customer service experience in lieu of a degree

  • Ability to obtain (within 60 days) and/or maintain current State of Minnesota health and life insurance sales license and annual Group Medicare Certification

  • Excellent analytical, problem identification and resolution skills as these pertain to benefit plans

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well the ability to pay close attention to detail

  • Ability to speak in front of customer and members to educate, persuade and sell complex products

  • Ability to achieve results in a highly complex environment with tight deadlines and multiple shifting priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute healthy and positive dynamics to the work team

  • Able to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes

  • Positive attitude and the ability to participate as part of a team to assure plan compliance and customer satisfaction

  • Demonstrated PC skills; including experience in Microsoft, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Overnight travel as required
