Sales Advisory Representative 




The Sales Advisory Representative is responsible for supporting field sales efforts of Bayer’s Radiology Device and Informatics products. Duties will consist of working with Strategic Account Managers, Sales, Channel Partners and Customers to scope and support the technical aspects of Bayer’s solutions during the sales process. The Sales Advisory Rep will assist in project scoping by working to understand customer needs, requirements and workflows translating these into a preliminary Statement of Work (SOW) which will drive the quotation process. The Sales Advisory Rep will work to understand and map the technical scope of potential projects supporting and addressing customer questions and concerns during the sales process. The Sales Advisory Rep will collect and organize project details and deliverables during presales activities and transition the information to the Informatics Implementation Team after the sale allowing for efficient, streamlined and successful implementations.


The primary responsibilities of this role, Sales Advisory Representative, are to: 


  • Partner with Strategic Account Managers, Sales Representatives and Channel Partners to represent the technical aspects of Bayer's Informatics solutions and applications to devise optimal solution architecture;
  • Promote the value proposition of Bayer’s integrated Device and Informatics platform, services and solutions;
  • Provide technical competencies to satisfy customer’s technical solution requirements;
  • Consult directly with clients to provide detailed understanding of Bayer Informatics platform, capabilities and solution roadmap;
  • Help convince prospects of the value of Bayer's products, Professional Services and Bayer in general, with the ability to differentiate from competition;
  • Develop and deliver presentations on Bayer technology, processes, and supported platforms;
  • Document customer’s Goals, Objective, Opportunities, Problems, Obstacles and link back to Bayer's solution unique value proposition;
  • Provide workflow analysis of current state and how Bayer’s radiology and enterprise solutions can improve upon existing state;
  • Perform site observations and initial application discovery with customers;
  • Work with Sales and Implementation teams to develop work estimates, SOW (Statements of Work) and Customer Transition documentation for solutions based on preliminary requirements;
  • Work with the Sales, Implementation, Product, and Development organizations, as necessary, to determine innovative approaches for "non-standard" implementations;
  • Write proposals for professional services, SOW (Statements of Work), and respond to RFPs;
  • Create custom quotes based on devised solution architecture, SOW and customer requirements;
  • Analyze the competitive landscape of each deal in order to properly position Bayer’s informatics offerings/ differentiators;
  • Champion IT and other technical inquiries during the sales process;
  • Determine need or test servers or additional environments;
  • Define any additional customer considerations and/or concerns;
  • Create custom Statements of Work (SOW) for SW and Services provided;
  • Generate custom quotes for Bayer Informatics solutions / applications / Professional Services;
  • Work with Bayer’s Channel Partners to provide technical competencies, support during the sales process.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Health Administration or relatable discipline with at least 5 years of overall customer service experience with a minimum of 3 years of that experience being in Radiology device and/or software;
  • Broad background and general knowledge of clinical, technical, administrative, and financial requirements of running an effective radiology department or practice;
  • Significant customer-facing experience, preferably in a consulting, pre-sales or customer application delivery role;
  • Strong ability to articulate technology concepts to both high level business audiences and highly clinical or technical individuals;
  • Demonstrated self-confidence and self-reliance in conducting demonstrations, presentations and experience working in healthcare settings;
  • Proven success in exceeding the expectations and requirements of both internal and external customers;
  • Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting;
  • Excellent proficiency of MS Office applications;
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight & multi-night trips;
  • Ability to perform additional tasks, projects & assignments as requested by management.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Radiology and/or IT Certification;
  • Certification as a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP);
  • Previous Radiology / Software sales, support or product management experience;
  • IT application integration experience within Healthcare, PACS, RIS, EHR experience;
  • Demonstrated understanding of DICOM, HL7 and RIS / HIS experience.
