Retail/Specialty Pharmacist

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for talented individuals to join us as a Retail/Outpatient Pharmacist. This role is a PRN/Casual position that will be providing night, weekends and holiday coverage.

The candidate selected for this position will work as a float pharmacist and will be expected to train and work at all pharmacy locations- DOC, Meds to Beds, LOC, BMC, UNL and the HUB (once opened). This candidate's schedule will be determined each schedule period based on PTO and medical leave needs and will include evenings and weekends (when necessary) and will not include a templated schedule.

Shift:

* PRN/Casual position providing night, weekends and holiday coverage.

* 8 hour shifts working within these parameters: Monday - Friday 5 AM to 9 PM, Sat - Sun 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Working with the healthcare team, prepare, dispense, and distribute medication and provide clinical monitoring and drug information in a manner, which ensures optimal patient care. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining dispensing and maintenance of records. Provide direction and assist with organization of daily activities.

Required Qualifications:

* Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
* Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice required.
* Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients required.
* Demonstrate basic computer skills and use of typical office equipment required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Outpatient hospital pharmacy experience or retail pharmacy experience preferred.
* American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency preferred.
* Experience with hospital EMR and pharmacy applications preferred.
* Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
