Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group): This person will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of High Purity Fused Silica (HPFS), glass, zircon bricks and other materials using High Resolution Inductively Coupled Plasma- Mass Spectrometry (HR-ICP-MS). We will provide all necessary training. This position requires understanding of chemistry with experience in analytical chemistry. Responsibilities also include instrument operation, instrument maintenance, and customer interactions. This position reports to the ICP-MS (Characterization Sciences) Supervisor and all objectives and deliverables for the role will be established with the supervisor. Writing technical reports and contributing to intellectual property is also an expectation in this role


Day to Day Responsibilities: • Perform all desired analyses set forth by supervisor • Perform dissolution processes using Hydrofluoric, Nitric and Hydrochloric acids on a daily basis • Hands on approach (in the laboratory) to solve fundamental, product development, and process research • Work in a Clean Room environment • Maintain and track equipment performance • Responsible of ordering of consumables and reagents • Provide inputs and/or documents ideas and contributions in IDs and RTRs • Identify and articulate problems as well as develop and execute approaches to solving them • Provide day-to-day problem solving support to Research, Development, and Manufacturing • Function as a team member on specified projects Person is expected to remain in the ICP-MS group for minimum of 5 years.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 hours per week / M-F / flex-time. Sometimes OT maybe needed.


Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration): B.S. in Chemistry, Material Science, or related field is required


Required Skills (These are skills that candidates must possess): • Basic chemistry knowledge, • Basic laboratory experience, • Knowledge of Excel, • Computer Skills- Must be comfortable learning many different types of software • Attention to details, • Must be comfortable performing analytical tasks while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Desired Skills (these are the skills that would be nice for candidates to possess): Familiarity with trace level analysis, clean room experience, experience with ICP-MS Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership): • Ability to efficiently communicate with customers (phone, e-mail) • ability to work conflict-free in high throughput environment,
