Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Immunology, Allergy and Retrovirology Service is seeking an experienced Research Technician to work part-time (20 hours per week).

Job Purpose

The research technician will perform the following: Scheduling the research project appointments, collecting questionnaires from subjects and controls, providing instruction on stool sample collection for microbiome analysis, entering study data into database, maintaining records of the study.

Job Responsibilities
  • Handles blood and tissue samples with sterile technique
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data
  • Documents results of experiments
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Experience:
  • Required: One year of relevant experience.
  • Basic mathematical skills applicable to dilutions, suspensions, and concentration calculation

  • Must have excellent pipetting skills

  • Work with computer programs to analyze data results

  • Familiarity with flow cytometry

  • Must be willing to commute frequently between Main Baylor and the Feigin Center.

  • None required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
