Join Takeda as a Research Associate II, Molecular Biology and Cell Line Generation where you will perform routine lab assignments and protocols. You will also contribute to design of and implementation of improvements for routine procedures. As part of the Global Biologics team, you will report to the Scientist I, Therapeutic Generation and Screening, Global Biologics. # How you will contribute: * Expertise in DNA sequence analysis and annotation, knowledge in DNA vector properties, and in construct design. * Basic mammalian cell culture techniques in various suspension and adherent cell lines (CHO, Expi293, HEK293, etc.) is required. * Proficiency and hands- on experience with lentiviral production and transduction of cell lines and various transfection methodologies. * Hands-on experience with biochemical and cell-based assay such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot and flow cytometry to validate overexpression and knockout in mammalian cell lines. * Proficiency with molecular biology techniques including primer design, DNA/RNA isolation and PCR. * Work collaboratively and effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment as a team player. * Well organized and focused with excellent communication skills and able to present results to the greater organization. * Maintain good electronic lab notebooks and databases. * Under minimal supervision, perform a wide range of assigned research experiments with efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail (e.g. selects methods, troubleshoots routine and some non-routine procedures). * Exercise technical judgment in execution of specialized procedures and interpretation of complex results. * Initiate routine and non-routine problem investigation and recommend solutions. # What you bring to Takeda: * BS in a scientific discipline (or equivalent) with 2+ years experience, or MS in a scientific discipline. * Hands on experience with DNA sequence analysis software such as SnapGene. * Experience using databases such as Uniprot and NCBI and able to analyze DNA and protein sequences using BLAST and alignment tool. * Familiarity with antibody and chimeric antigen receptor structure and function is highly desirable. * Demonstrate technical knowledge of a scientific discipline mention in what area or biochemistry, molecular biology etc. * Understand specific scientific mechanisms of why a procedure works. * Experience in a drug discovery environment is advantageous. * Receive high- level instructions on routine work; general instructions on new assignments; able to execute on assigned tasks with some supervision. # What Takeda can offer you: * Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, Dental, and Vision * Financial Planning & Stability: 401(k) with company match and Annual Retirement Contribution Plan * Health & Wellness programs including onsite flu shots and health screenings * Generous time off for vacation and the option to purchase additional vacation days * Community Outreach Programs and company match of charitable contributions * Family Planning Support * Flexible Work Paths * Tuition reimbursement # More about us: At Takeda, we are transforming patient care through the development of novel specialty pharmaceuticals and best in class patient support programs.
