CONTRACT MUST HAVES: At least one year of experience in an industry setting Practical experience with mammalian cell culture techniques including sterile technique, passaging, and banking cells Experience with SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA, and other protein quantitation techniques Position Summary: We seek a highly motivated and creative individual to join our Protein Sciences group to support and develop multiple therapeutic modalities for treating rare diseases. This position is part of the Research department in our Translational Science organization. Our team is looking for a molecular biologist with experience in optimizing expression and reporter constructs for expressing proteins in mammalian cell lines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Utilize molecular cloning and protein engineering techniques, including gene synthesis design, primer design, and gene assemblies. Develop vector/DNA constructs for expression in HEK293 and CHO cells. Evaluate expression with appropriate biochemical and analytical techniques such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC, Western, ELISA, etc. Support multiple research and development teams working on protein-related projects. Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and perform other tasks and projects as assigned Technical Requirements & Skills: BS in, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field. At least one year of experience in an industry setting is essential. Title and compensation will depend on relevant experience. Experience initiating and directing the molecular design, cloning, engineering, and troubleshooting the creation of protein expression or reporter constructs using software such as Geneious, Snapgene, or similar software Practical experience with mammalian cell culture techniques including sterile technique, passaging, and banking cells Experience with SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA, and other protein quantitation techniques. Strong critical thinking, excellent communication, organization, and technical writing skills. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to learn new techniques, and thrive in a collaborative cross-functional environment.
