LOC_COLKET-Colket Translational Research Req ID: 38081

Shift: Days

Employment Status: Regular - Full Time

Job Summary

A post-doctoral position in human genetics and genomics is immediately available. Research in our group focuses on the development of genomics and bioinformatics methods to analyze sequencing data, and to enable the implementation of genomic medicine in clinical settings.

The successful candidate will work on developing novel genomic methods to study human diseases that are related to genomic repeats. Example projects include the use of linked-read sequencing, optical mapping or long-read sequencing to assay human genomes from patients with undiagnosed diseases, and to understand how repetitive elements and structural variants in complex genomic regions cause human diseases.

A suitable candidate should have a doctoral degree in genomics-related fields, with experience in molecular/cell biology, genome editing and next-generation sequencing. Prior experience with analysis of next-generation sequencing data such as whole-genome sequencing or transcriptome sequencing is preferred but not required. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn and apply skills in genomics, genetics and bioinformatics. Qualified candidates should be able to work independently as well as in a group environment.
