Position Description Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

• Develop and oversee Reliability and Failure Analysis tasks for a program taking a development project into high volume commercialization.

• Candidate will have the opportunity to deploy both leadership skills to ensure the effort is a success but also the opportunities to develop reliability tasks and explore failure mechanisms.

• Lead the development of failure analysis and reliability testing in a highly flexible process and production environment using rigorous and controlled methods.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Work with a multi-discipline team and drive failure analysis activities to support process development and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.

• Oversee day-to-day reliability tasks including tracking, testing and reporting results.

• Develop qualification plans and reports for new products

• Work with Wafer Fabrication Engineers to validate device reliability due to process changes, new equipment and new wafer fab start-ups

• Perform general failure analysis tasks to determine the mechanisms for reliability failures

• Develop stress test studies to understand reliability and failure issues that may affect device performance


Travel Requirements (please note if international):

25%+ May be some limited international Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 plus hours


Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

• BS or MS or PhD in Applied Physics, EE, ME or equivalent.

• Minimum of 3 years industry experience.


Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Data retrieval, plotting, and analysis (JMP, MiniTab, Microsoft Excel)

• Experience scaling from development to high volume manufacturing.


Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)

• High-energy, proactive and detail-oriented with desire to exercise independent judgment

• Excellent skills in teamwork, communication, problem solving and leadership

• FIB, SEM, AFM, microscopy familiarity

• Experience in compiling and presenting results to cross-functional groups

• Proficient in a software program to automate routine tasks (VBA, Labview, etc)

• Strong background in statistics analysis and using software tools such as Minitab & JMP

• Basic knowledge of Disciplined Problem Solving tools (8D, 5 whys, FTAs, FMEA)

• MS or PhD in Applied Physics or EE or equivalent is preferred.
