The Regional Disaster Preparedness Liaison plans and develops the Hospital Preparedness Program for Presence Health. Serves as a liaison between Presence Health and other healthcare agencies and community partners for disaster preparedness.  Assists with EMS education as needed.

  1. Plans and develops of preparedness drills, including tracking of documentation, as required by The Joint Commission and Illinois Department of Public Health.
  2. Provides assistance to the Director in planning the content and format of educational programs related to disaster preparedness for hospital staff and senior leadership; develops an annual calendar of hospital preparedness drills and education offerings for both facilities.
  3. Coordinates inspection and documentation of all disaster preparedness equipment and supplies. Oversees equipment, supplies, work areas and facilities. 
  4. Completes an annual Hazard Vulnerability Assessment for both facilities and distributes data to community partners.
  5. Assists in preparing and maintaining the Emergency Operations Plan and Disaster Manuals.


Education and/or Experience  

Associate’s degree required. The completion of an EMT certification program with two years of experience in the field and two years training EMT-Bs or EMT-Is or an Associate’s degree in nursing with a current Illinois RN license and a minimum of five years of clinical experience in Emergent and/or Critical Care required.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Illinois EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P or registered nurse license required. Certification in CPR required. Valid driver’s license required.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) certification is preferred.
