We are seeking an experienced a Production Superintendent for our Microbial Solutions site located in Charleston, SC. 


Provide general management and direction of personnel and operations to ensure achievement of site and departmental goals and production levels.  Manages production departments through the collaboration and coordination of staff and team members in areas of responsibilities and support groups.  Helps to establish, train and report team measurable and other operational standards.


    Duties and Areas of Responsibilities:

    The following is are basic areas of responsibilities listed, but not limiting:

    • Management of direct reports and areas of production operations in terms of setting and meeting schedules, workforce management, and other areas of manufacturing production
    • Develop, maintain, and report on monthly / quarterly departmental performance metrics
    • Assisting with planning and coordinating of production and project schedules within areas of responsibility
    • Coordinate production operations with departmental managers
    • Monitor performance of direct reports.  Provide regular coaching and counseling.  Assist in preparation and delivery of salary and performance reviews of direct reports.  Serve as mentor to staff and team.
    • Implement operating objectives, organizational structure of direct reports and staffing requirements.  Development of a departmental plan for backup and succession of key technical personnel.
    • Implement and manage LEAN production initiatives to include KPI’s, visual management systems, Tier meetings and other tools to tie in lean management.



    The following are minimum requirements related to the Production Superintendent position.

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in biology, chemistry, engineering, life science)
    • Minimum of 7 years of proven managerial experience in manufacturing setting (GMP manufacturing environment is a plus).
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience requirements.
