Job Description Summary:

The Department invites applications from practitioners in all areas of pharmacy practice, but in particular those with an interest and expertise in research. The clinical pharmacists will be responsible for oversight of the investigational pharmacy and preparing investigational products for dispensing or infusing to study participants. The clinical pharmacists are responsible for accountability of all investigational products housed in the investigational pharmacy or other areas of the research department. Hours vary and are dependent on clinical trial needs.

Job Description:

Required Qualifications:

* A terminal degree (PharmD or equivalent) in their field.
* The completion of advanced training through a residency or a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
* Licensure as a pharmacist in Kansas within 90 days of hire is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Possess a special interest or expertise in research.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Board certified.
* Willingness to pursue any necessary training/certification/maintenance to be eligible for involvement in conducting clinical research.

Job Duties Outlined:

* Research training through the University is required.
* Study specific training for each study that dispenses investigational product is required by the study sponsors.
* Attend weekly research staff meetings.
* Maintenance and monitoring of the pharmacy, supplies and equipment including expiration dates, calibrating of equipment and temperature monitoring of pharmacy equipment.
* Communicate and meet with study sponsors regarding investigational product accountability.
* Development of systems to track investigational products and medications from the investigational pharmacy.
* Putting safety measures in place for staff and study participants.
