As a member of the CBET team in Discovery Platform Technologies, the candidate will be integral to developing a short and long-term strategic and tactical plan for the application of Chemical Biology across a variety of aspects in support of Discovery and Development Sciences. This candidate will also be responsible for mentoring multi-disciplinary scientists, ensuring collaborative interactions with therapeutic platform teams, identifying external sources of Chemical Biology innovation and having a keen eye on emerging platforms. Key Responsibilities: Co-lead an experienced multi-disciplinary team Integrate team activities with discovery research and development sciences projects Set an integrated chemical biology-based strategy for shortand long-term deliverables spanning areas of hit/target identification, engagement, and localization Proactively identify, communicate, and implement synergies between team activities and emerging therapeutic platforms/modalities such as induced target proximity and RNA targeting QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Biology and 10+ years of experience; 3-5 years' experience leading a small or mid-sized group preferably in an industrial setting Expertise in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, pharmacology, and broad understanding of drug discovery Experience in the application of genetic and/or computational methods to study pathways and identify targets Demonstrated track record of publications highlighting innovative science Proven experience developing and mentoring group members Effective verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in target and drug binding site validation and/or identification Experience in planning, project leadership, laboratory and budget management Demonstrated ability to champion and advance creative concepts Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed work environment Ability to identify and lead collaborations in chemical biology field Demonstrated track record of chemical biology applications in Neuroscience Significant Work ActivitiesN/ATravelYes, 5 % of the TimeJob TypeExperiencedScheduleFull-timeJob Level CodeMEqual Employment OpportunityAt AbbVie, we value bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to develop new and innovative solutions for patients.
