Primary Purpose

Statistical expert and corporate resource, providing high-level statistical expertise to various projects and consulting with other statisticians throughout the company. Typically serves on a large project team and is a statistical representative at project-specific meetings. Collaborates with clinical investigators to determine study design, contributes to protocol development, writes statistical analysis plans, and performs statistical analysis and disseminates study findings. Maintains expertise in state-of-the-art data manipulation and statistical methodology and is involved in writing and publication of statistical manuscripts. Presents research results internally and at external conferences. Will serve as a mentor to other statistical staff at Emmes and may supervise other team members. Develops statistical sections of proposals, and typically is involved in other corporate and statistical group activities.

Responsibilities

* Collaborates with clinical investigators to determine study design
* Writes sections of protocols that require statistical input
* Reviews protocols and case report forms to ensure that protocol objectives are met and standards are maintained
* Generates treatment allocations in randomized clinical research studies and ensures proper implementation
* Leads the project team's development of statistical analysis plans and programs to perform analyses and display study data
* Performs statistical analyses, writes well-documented statistical code and validates application program
* Implements data and safety monitoring reports to ensure participants safety
* Develops metrics and generates quality control reports to optimize the performance of clinical sites and the coordinating center
* Generates study reports to be distributed to internal and external monitoring committees and regulatory bodies
* Authors or contributes to manuscripts and/or scientific presentations, including statistical manuscripts
* Contributes to proposal writing by authoring sections of proposals requiring statistical input
* Presents analytical results internally and at external conferences
* Serves as a mentor to statistical staff
* Other duties as assigned

Experience

* MS in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or related field with 6 years of relevant work experience or PhD in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or related field with 4 years of relevant work experience
* Demonstrated proficiency with statistical methods and applications in clinical research
* Competent in SAS and/or R statistical software
* Strong publication record including both applied and methodological statistical manuscripts
* Expertise in state-of-the-art data manipulation and statistical methodology
* Ability to manage multiple tasks
